Habs get a W in New Jersey

A small, yet sufficient lead allowed the Canadiens to muster up a win on Saturday afternoon against the Devils. The first goal of the game was scored at 1:07 of the second period by Max Pacioretty to make it his eleventh of the year on a... get this folks- a power play. So I guess the brand spanking new 4.25 million dollar Canadiens' blue-liner came in handy, eh? Although there was much speculation after the Dman swap between the Habs and the 'Canes, sending the Habs' Spacio Man to Carolina, Tomas Kaberle played much better than expected. We shouldn't speak too fast, Montreal is good at creating false, early judgments that are often quite deceiving. I think we're gonna have to give this one time. He failed to produce in Boston, and was slumping with the Hurricanes, but there may be a Saviour.
Adding onto their lead, the Canadiens scored one at the beginning of the third to give them at 2-0 lead, which they managed to keep for 8 minutes of the game until Palmieri sneaked one in at 13:34, shortening the Habs' lead to just one goal. Within less than a minute remaining in the game, Parise was awarded a penalty shot on a  Josh Gorges penalty for covering the puck in the crease, which resulted in an unsuccessful shot. Thank Heavens Price made the save on that one. He was real happy about it, too.
Definitely not the most thrilling game yet, but hey- a win's a win. 'Nough Said.
Up ahead: Isles, Flyers and Devils paying Montreal a visit.
Bonne semaine
