2minutes4roughing- The Kaberle Plan is Working... Wait What?!

That's right.  The Tomas Kaberle experiment is actually working, despite the criticism the trade was receiving.  Habs' fans were generally ecstatic when they heard that Jaroslav Spacek was traded, but were furious when they heard it was for Kaberle.  Some fans were saying "so we traded one useless defenseman for another useless defenseman?  The only difference is that this one is more expensive and has two more years one his contract, fire Pierre Gauthier now!"

But lets look to a little bit of Canadiens' history.  Last year the Canadiens traded their second round pick for James Wisniewski, a trade that turned an abysmal power play into one of the top power plays in the league.  So trading for an offensively minded defenseman has worked in the past to boost the power play.

Fast forward to present day.  Kaberle has put up 4 assists through 3 games as a part of the Canadiens, including one on the power play, and during his time here the Habs have won 2 out of 3 games.  The Canadiens have scored a power play goal in each of the 3 games that Kaberle has been here, so he's been doing the exact thing he was brought here for, to make the power play productive.

Kaberle probably fits better on a team where he plays the 5th or 6th defenseman and getting his minutes on the power play, as opposed to being a part of the top 4.  And that's why I think the Tomas Kaberle experience has been working in Montreal, for that exact reason.  And that's why I believe it'll continue to work.
